Twenty years ago, a dream was born in a small corner of Vasant Vihar, New Delhi a dream to create India’s first truly homegrown luxury chocolate brand. At a time when good chocolate could only be found in Duty Free shops or packed into suitcases from abroad, Choko La set out to change the way India experienced chocolate. 

What began with handcrafted pralines, steaming cups of hot chocolate and the aroma of fresh desserts soon grew into something much bigger a community built around love, joy and shared moments. The name “Choko La” itself comes from the ancient Mayan phrase meaning “to drink chocolate together” a reminder that chocolate has always been about togetherness, celebration and connection.

From One Café To A Global Brand 

Under the vision of Vasudha Munjal Dinodia, a third-generation entrepreneur from the Hero family and a Le Cordon Bleu–trained chocolatier, Choko La has grown from a quaint café into a brand that represents India’s evolving taste for authenticity and quality. 

From our first boutique in Vasant Vihar to four Premium Chocolate Boutiques across the National Capital Region, our journey has been guided by one philosophy uncompromising quality and a pure, heartfelt approach to chocolate. 

We are now present across PAN India through over 600+ distribution points in major Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities, covering almost all Indian States. We are also present in International Duty-Free zones across major Tier 1 cities. 

Internationally, Choko La currently exports to the USA, UK, Singapore, and Canada, with plans to expand into Germany and the UAE by FY26–FY27. Looking ahead, our five-year growth plan includes further expansion into the GCC region (Saudi Arabia), Western Europe (France, Belgium, Italy), and Southeast Asia and Australasia. In North America, we are also exploring opportunities in Mexico. 

With the launch of Choko La Global on Amazon USA and UK, our chocolates now travel far beyond borders, carrying the same promise of purity and craftsmanship that started two decades ago.

We use only couverture chocolate made from pure cocoa butter no substitutes, no shortcuts ensuring that every bite is rich, honest and deeply satisfying. Over the years, we’ve also embraced mindful indulgence with gluten-free and sugar-free options, staying true to our promise of better, cleaner choices without compromising on taste. 

Our chefs, artisans and store teams continue to innovate, blending timeless recipes with modern craftsmanship from vibrant seasonal hampers and festive gift boxes to our beloved classics like Dark Rochers and Signature Truffles. Each piece tells a story of skill, care and creativity.

Vasudha Munjal Dinodia’s journey reflects passion and purpose. A proud alumna of Mater Dei School and IILM, she refined her culinary skills at Le Cordon Bleu, London and later combined her global perspective with a deeply Indian sense of warmth and community. Her belief that chocolate should bring people closer still guides every Choko La experience. 

Beyond business, her compassion extends to social causes in education and healthcare  because spreading joy, she believes, must go hand in hand with giving back.
